Diabetes and Technology
I found out a little over a year ago that I was diabetic, which honestly wasn't a shock being that most of my family have or have died because of diabetes. For me this has been hard to deal with because I love food, ok maybe it's a love/hate relationship. I love to eat but hate the pounds I gain.
Most people would say it's not that hard to cope with diabetes, you either want to live healthy or loose a limb or your eye sight or any other varies health issues connect to diabetes.
What I found when I truly started to work hard at keeping my sugar level regular is that there are all types of
assistance to help track you levels.
Smart phones have apps that manage diabetes, tracks and analyzes medical data, with input options for carbohydrate intake, insulin injection times and exercise routines.
This app also alerts you when you sugar level is irregular.
You can even attach your glucose meter to your smart phone to transfer all the data to the app.
For me this has made being diabetic easier to track and to keep under control.
Let me know what you think about apps to help manage diabetes.

My challenge was to create a prom princess from tomboy and the test subject was my beautiful daughter Destinee'. My daughter was not excited about the idea of going to prom and did not give much input into what she wanted to wear. For me this was not a true challenge being that I have style clients from all walks of life. Starting with finding a dress that fit her shape and the right color for her skin tone.
As you can see in the picture above Destinee' is more comfortable in a hoodie and baseball cap and even though her hair is out she is usually sporting a ponytail. I understand that my daughter knows she is attractive but chooses to use her baggy jeans and sports shorts with her hoodie as protective armor.
After a month in a half of constructing Destinee's dress and styling her for prom dress she had a glow about her. I saw a girlie girl emerge from this tomboy exterior that has been a big part of her persona. The young woman who left out of our home to go to her prom was confident and showed that not only is she beautiful inside but outside as well.

Cleaning out your closet for the New Year and improving your wardrobe
1.) Any clothes that you have not worn in six months to over a year can be removed from your wardrobe.
2.) Clothing over two sizes or under two sizes from your current size should be removed from your closet.
3.) Once you have remove clothing that you do not wear or cannot fit you should look at what pieces you have left.
4.) The pieces you have left can be match up to make outfits for work or you’re off time.
5.) Matching up pieces gives you an idea of what new pieces you need to enhance your personal style.
What do you do with the old clothing that you will not be wearing again you ask? Donate them to your local shelter, charity, or church to be used by someone in need
